Calligraphy Master Eric Lin has been practicing this art form for over 40 years, winning many prestigious awards for his skills. Chinese Silk Embroidery & Workshops
Master Artist Jenny Gao, founder of the Xiu Zhen Ge Centre of Embroidery, will be returning for this year’s Lunar New Year celebrations. Jenny will be demonstrating the ancient art of Chinese Embroidery which she has practiced for over 20 years, and will have a range of traditional fashion and accessories for sale. Beginners embroidery workshops will also be on offer.

The sound of AusOriental Orchestra, is a group of local musicians who have come together for the joy of music. This non-profit group aims to use music as a means to bring people of all nations together to promote tolerance and harmony in a culturally diverse society. Along with the orchestra, Sunnybank Plaza audiences will also enjoy some Peking Opera and Chinese Dance performances featuring some friends of the AusOriental group.

Sunnybank’s Lunar New Year Rooftop Fireworks is a free, family friendly event on the rooftop at Sunnybank Plaza!
Featuring Brisbane’s biggest Lunar New Year fireworks display and an exciting line-up of live entertainment, lion and dragon dance performances and activities for the kids, it’s the perfect way to herald in the Year of the Rabbit.
Plus, all your favourite Sunnybank restaurants will be available for dine in or takeaway, with special Lunar New Year menu offerings.
The event will kick off at 5.30pm, with fireworks scheduled for 8pm!
